Sarena and Kieron met through a mutual friend at Easter time in 2000 back in Christchurch, New Zealand. They had been together almost 8 years and after months and months of subtle hints from Sarena, Kieron finally proposed on Valentines Day 2008. Sarena arrived home from work to a note on the stairs with a rose instructing her to ‘put something nice on’ and wait for further instructions! She was eventually allowed into the kitchen to be welcomed by a delicious meal cooked by Kieron who is a fantastic butcher and knows all the tricks of the trade. Sarena thought Kieron was acting a little odd, and after the main course Kieron commented that he couldn’t wait any longer. He got down on one knee and proposed.
The couple didn’t get married until July 2010, allowing friends and family from New Zealand to save and plan for a big holiday. This meant that Sarena and Kieron had a whole 2 years and 5 months to plan their beautiful wedding!
