The wedding celebrations took place at Mountnessing Village Hall in Essex. It is a simple village hall which the couple loved as they could totally customise it to suit them! There is also a windmill on the green which made for some amazing photos.
There was no set colour scheme – Pollyanna loves all colours so she wanted it to be as multi-coloured as possible! The couple, along with 15 of their nearest and dearest, transformed the village hall the day before the wedding. They had 140m of bunting, 120 homemade chair covers, 18 chopping boards, 42 jam jars, 140 decaled pint glasses and champagne flutes, paper streamers, fake flower garlands and more – all made, bought or provided by family and friends.
The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a ploughman’s wedding breakfast with a picnic style buffet table so everyone could help themselves. All the food was local and as Alex and Pollyanna sourced it all themselves they knew it was allergy and child-friendly.
They also supplied their own alcohol – they hosted a mini beer festival with alcohol from local breweries, and plenty of local cider too! There was also Pimms, Prosecco, lager and plenty of soft drinks for everyone.
