It was important to Alex that Pollyanna still looked like herself on her wedding day – he’d mentioned how some brides look totally different to normal on their wedding day, but he wanted to be able to see his bride’s freckles and her hair the way she usually wore it.
Pollyanna took this on board and with the help of a colleague, had a simple makeup look with no foundation, just some subtle eye makeup and lipstick. Her hair was lose with curls. The bride also had flowers in her hair – the whole wedding party had fake blooms as her sister is highly allergic to pollen!
The bride’s wedding dress was a true bargain – she headed to a hospice shop near her parents’ house with her mum to search for a gown. In Hospice in the Weald Pollyanna’s mum spotted a strapless wedding dress with colourful embroidery. It fitted like a glove and Pollyanna loved it. It was hers for £55!
The textiles teacher at the school Pollyanna works at helped to alter the dress, and she added blue ribbon to customise it. It was just so her and she had the best time in it – as it was so cheap she didn’t have to worry about getting it dirty so she could relax and run about in it all day!
