Paul and Francesco married in a civil ceremony at the REP. It was the first wedding to take place at the Birmingham theatre, and the whole celebration, including the reception took place there.
Francesco and Paul walked in at the same time, separately, from opposite sides of the room. As it was a theatre they were able to make a grand entrance on to the stage area after their guests had taken their seats.
They had two readings at the ceremony, with each of them being read in English and Italian. The couple’s three close friends and Francesco’s brother both did the readings, which were chosen by Paul and Francesco as they meant a lot to them.
At the end of the ceremony gold and silver confetti cascaded down the ceiling, creating a real ‘wow’ moment as they were pronounced married.
