Melissa and Mark were set up by mutual friends at a party back in 2008. The beginning of their relationship was exciting and it didn’t take Mark long to realise that he wanted to be with Melissa forever.
Mark booked a trip to New York in March 2010 and had planned on proposing to Melissa outside the Statue of Liberty, but with too many tourists around Mark decided to hold back and wait for a moment that felt a little more special. The couple hired a horse and carriage to take them around Central Park and it was then and there that Mark popped the question with a diamond ring that he'd had made especially for Melissa.
Newly engaged, the couple started planning their wedding for a date 18 months in the future, which turned out to be almost 3 years to the day after their first encounter.
