Meg and Lee shared their first date to London Zoo and discovered they had so much in common – including a love of penguins!
They continued to date, and as their romance blossomed Meg pushed back her moving date, changing it from the end of summer, to Christmas, to Easter before she realised home is where the heart is, and her heart was with Lee.
She changed her move home to a six month visit. It was hard to be apart for so long but the distance made Meg and Lee’s relationship stronger and made them realise just how much they loved each other. Lee flew out to Australia to visit Meg and meet her family, and whilst he was there he ordered an engagement ring and asked Meg’s sister to pick it up in secret.
He’d planned a dinner at the beach but had to call it off because it was raining – Meg couldn’t understand why her sister was so devastated about the rain! The next day was Lee’s last day in Australia so they had breakfast at the beach instead.
After breakfast they walked along the sand and Lee dropped down on to one knee and held out the ring, which he’d hidden in his pocket, out to her. He was so nervous he nearly dropped it! Meg’s sister filmed the whole thing from afar, and the video includes running commentary from Meg’s niece asking what Uncle Lee is doing and why!
