David and Kerry became husband and wife in a civil wedding ceremony at the Swan Hotel. The ceremony was really beautiful – just thinking about it makes Kerry well up!
The couple’s daughter walked in first all by herself, and that set David off and he was in tears. Kerry felt calmer than she expected too – she was so excited and keen to enjoy every minute she avoided any tears.
As soon as Kerry started to walk down the aisle, she couldn’t take her eyes off David, and couldn’t wait to say her vows to him. The bride’s mum walked her down the aisle as her father is in a wheelchair. At the end of the aisle, Kerry’s mum passed her to her dad so he could participate too. ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri played as Kerry walked towards David.
Including their family was important to the couple – Kerry’s nana and granddad were the witnesses when the newlyweds signed the register. It was so important to her to have her grandparents there and really helped to make the day extra special.
The couple exchanged wedding rings bought from Pandora and as they left the ceremony room David started to cry again! Everyone broke out into applause which helped him to recover.
