Katie and Chris had been together for almost 10 years when they married. While Chris was away serving in Iraq, he and Katie exchanged endless letters and being apart was just too much to bear. They discussed getting engaged in their letters and when Chris was on leave and back in the UK, Katie showed him an engagement ring in a shop window. Without a second thought, Chris went in and bought the ring.
Katie and Chris have such a strong bond that was strengthened when they both supported each other through difficult times. When Katie’s brother James passed away after a battle with cancer, Chris supported Katie and her family though the difficult time. When Chris left the army to become a fire fighter, it was a difficult transition that Katie helped him through.
