Kathy and Mark met 7 years ago when they both worked at the same ice rink in Sheffield. They became friends and eventually formed a relationship ‘off the ice’. Mark was a serious and competitive skater at the time and had always vowed he would never get married so it was quite a shock to everyone when he finally popped the question in May 2010. Mark had booked a cosy night away for Kathy’s birthday and proposed at midnight with a beautiful platinum diamond engagement ring.
The couple had originally wanted a winter wedding, but after not having enough time to plan for December 2010, and not wanting to wait until December 2011, they decided to get married precisely 1 year after their engagement.
