Kate and Nick, who had originally met at school, bumped in to each other again on Christmas Eve of 2003 whilst having a drink at a local pub. They didn’t officially get together until 2004, but from then on it was plain sailing. They moved in together quite quickly, but it took almost 6 years before Nick proposed to Kate whilst standing in the kitchen preparing dinner. Nick took Kate by complete surprise and suggested they get married, before heading over to Kate’s parents house the following afternoon to ask her father permission. When Kate’s father rang to congratulate his daughter on the good news, Kate knew that her fairytale was finally going to come true.
The couple went together to try on engagement rings and ended up choosing a beautiful marquis set solitaire diamond and booked their wedding date for 12 months in advance, giving them plenty of time to plan ahead.
