Ben and Joanne’s wedding cake was specially made by an award winning cake maker, who happens to be a friend of Ben’s dad’s. It was four tiers tall and had layers of fruitcake, chocolate and lemon.
The couple also had a variety of cupcakes to choose from, with amazing flavours like white chocolate and raspberry and apple crumble.
The cake, which was displayed on rustic style log slices, was cut using Ben’s ceremonial sword and then served up straight away. It went down very well with the guests – hardly anything was left at the end of the night.
After their beautiful wedding, Ben and Joanne headed off on the trip of a lifetime for their honeymoon – they spent a month in New Zealand and Australia. They have family over there so they combined their trip with visits, as well as wine tasting in the Hunter Valley, visiting the Blue Mountains and enjoying a helicopter tour over the glaziers in New Zealand.
