Jan and Gary met via an internet dating website and after meeting up for dinner just once, decided that they could make a great couple if they tried. Date number two happened to be Jan’s birthday so Gary wined and dined his new lady and presented her with a gorgeous bunch of flowers. Just a month later Jan went into hospital for surgery, but Gary stayed by her bedside for a full 6 days after her operation and it was then that this couple knew they’d be together forever.
Gary proposed 18 months later by a waterfall in Glencoe where the couple had stopped to admire the stunning views whilst on a weekend break away. Jan was in the process of taking a photograph of the scenery, but when she turned around Gary was down on bended knee with a ring in his hand. Jan was stunned and found it hard to hold back the tears.
The couple spent 10 months planning their private wedding for June 2011, followed by a reception party with friends and family taking place the following September.
