Dom and Clare had a traditional three tiered wedding cake, made by Dom’s auntie Sue. The cake was made from fruitcake and covered in white icing. It was decorated with silver ribbons and had a silver cake topper.
Dom’s aunt also made a whole other tier for everyone to enjoy on the night so the cake could stay in one piece for a bit longer!
In the evening, the couple hired a band from Shindig Music called Brenthouse. Clare went to college with the saxophonist and manager so she knew how talented they’d be. They got everyone dancing and played the couple’s first dance song – ‘L-O-V-E’ by Nat King Cole.
The bride’s dad, as Clare is the only musician in the family, wanted to surprise her with his musical talent so he performed Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the penny whistle to a room full of musicians – it was hilarious!
The newlyweds plan to follow their classic wedding with an exciting honeymoon. They plan to visit Africa and Madagascar – they’ll be going on safari and staying in a lodge by the rainforest – the most amazing way to spend their first married holiday!
