Catherine and Pietro first met when they were at university, and both got part-time jobs at Marks and Spencer. They were together for six years before getting engaged, and had a two year long engagement before tying the knot.
In 2013, Pietro and Catherine headed for a romantic lunch at the Orange Tree in Totteridge as part of their relaxing bank holiday weekend plans. They were dining in the garden when Pietro got down on one knee – causing Catherine and all the other dinners to get very excited!
The first thing she said was how perfect the ring was, before quickly following that comment with a ‘Yes!’ Pietro gave his bride-to-be a solitaire diamond which he’d bought in London’s Hatton Garden. He took Catherine’s mother and sister with him to help him choose and they were both delighted he included them in such a special moment.
