John and Catherine met in April 2003 at their local nightclub. John had actually grown up with Catherine’s cousin and worked next door to her parents house, but their paths hadn’t crossed until their timing was absolutely perfect. The couple eventually got together in May 2003 and John proposed on Christmas Day of the same year. With Catherine’s family all sat around opening presents, John bent down on one knee and produced a stunning engagement ring. Catherine was speechless and her mother even had to prompt her to answer because she was in such shock. Luckily for John, Catherine said YES and everyone celebrated with a glass, or two of champagne.
The couple knew that they wanted to get married abroad, but their plans were put on hold due to the arrival of baby Lincoln in July 2007.
After the joy of a new baby - and moving house - Catherine and John decided to set a date for 2011.
