Amy and Matt met back in November 2001 at a friend’s birthday party in Leeds. They hit it off and dated for 7 years before heading over to New York for a trip in October 2008. Matt had secretly kept an engagement ring hidden in the hotel room safe through out their trip, and was just waiting for the right moment to propose.
Amy had organised a romantic meal one night at a lovely restaurant in the city. The couple were having a conversation about what was missing in Amy’s life…to which she replied, ‘A guinea pig’! With that, Matt produced the ring and Amy said ‘YES!’
