Amy and Martyn have been friends since the age of 15, but only became a couple when they were both 19. In July 2010, after 5 years of dating, Martyn proposed to Amy in front of the Trevi Fountain in the romantic city of Rome.
Martyn had chosen an 18ct white gold engagement ring with a solitaire diamond set in a twisted band. He carefully carried the ring on the plane with him from Scotland to Rome, hoping that Amy wouldn’t notice!
The couple planned on having a long engagement, but after viewing just one wedding venue the couple were quick to book a date. They were married just 9 months later amongst 75 members of their friends and family.
