The cradle of Western civilisation, Greece is rich in history and tradition and enjoys a stunning setting. Halkidiki is a picturesque peninsular with golden beaches and a mountainous backdrop. The island of Mykonos has a cosmopolitan nightlife and popular beaches, whilst quieter Santorini clings to the edge of a volcanic crater and enjoys legendary sunsets. Both are postcard perfect. The larger island of Crete has a wealth of ancient sites and luxurious hotels.
