Mas de Puech

Mas de Puech is a completely restored 19th century farmhouse and buildings. The restoration process has taken 4 years as a 'labour of love', resulting in high quality modern accommodation, but with the original features retained. The centre piece of the complex is the courtyard, with its fountain and planted borders. One of the striking features is the ecurie (stable) with its vaulted ceilings and floor lighting, this is used as a quiet area with the use of a library for the guests.

The Farmhouse consists of two separate buildings joined together by a central courtyard. The seven individually designed self-catering apartments are on two separate levels and will cater for all of the requirements you may have.

Each apartment has its own private terrace and the stable with its original vaulted ceiling has been converted into a room that can be used for meetings, wine tastings or just a quiet place to read. The large swimming pool with its own terrace also has a changing room, toilet and shower.

There is ample covered parking (very important in the hot French summers) adjacent to the Mas.

The Mas (old French farmhouse) is situated within its own vineyard and at present has 18 hectares (45 acres) of vines under cultivation, together with another 20 hectares (50 acres) of Garrigue (native Mediterranean vegetation). At the present time we are in the middle of extensive vine replanting programme and produced wine from our new grapes in 2006.

Mas de Puech is blessed with an excellent micro climate: 300 days sunshine each year, with beautiful verdant springs, long warm summers and dry autumns.

Mas de Puech is a lovingly restored 19th century French farmhouse with each of the buildings having a south facing orientation, enjoying sun for most of the day. The restoration has retained many of the beautiful original features of the farmhouse with a modern and spacious feel. The buildings are set in an idyllic rural setting surrounded by Mediterranean trees and aromatic plants against the backdrop of spectacular views of the 18 hectares of vines. It is situated in the foothills of the Cevennes Mountains, 20 minutes from the elegant and vibrant town of Uzes and 35 minutes from the ancient city of Nimes.

The buildings are centred around the large courtyard with its planted borders and fountain; the accommodation consists of 7 individual apartments, each with its own distinctive character and colour scheme based on the Provencal colours of the South of France. Each apartment has been named with a grape variety grown in the vineyard, they vary in size and can accommodate 4, 6 or 8 people and are fully equipped with all modern facilities and a painted oak kitchen.

With Mas de Puech situated in the middle of its own vines it is possible to walk for miles through the vines and garrigue, with only the natural beauty and flora and fauna of the area for company.

What could be more enchanting than your wedding being held in the heart of the South of France with its picturesque countryside, quaint and pretty villages set amid vineyards, parks and rolling valley…your senses will be overwhelmed by the fragrant lavender fields and beautiful yellow mimosa trees and fields of olive trees.

There are several options for your drinks reception and seated dining areas on the day of the wedding and there is also a natural stone BBQ area by the pool for hosting casual next day parties. For those who wish to have a blessing ceremony on site there are several suitable areas to host this, among the fruit trees & bamboo or up on higher land with views of the vines & nearby mountains.

We have the optional services of an excellent wedding planner (fees paid separately) who speaks French fluently and lives locally. She can arrange the ceremony, caterers, flowers, music, photographer and video services, hair and make up, cars and coach hire, budget planning and guest information packs.

There are a myriad of details involved in arranging a wedding and it takes a huge amount of time and organisation. Having someone handle a lot of this for you, allows you to focus on the aspects you most enjoy. And when the day comes, you can relax and enjoy it, knowing someone else is ensuring that everything goes to plan.
