Marriage Requirements

If you choose to get married in Ireland there are just 3 simple steps to follow.

Number 1: Send notice to the Republic of Ireland with your intention to wed. This needs to be done 3 months before the wedding takes place and should be sent to the registrar is the district you are getting married.

Number 2: Live in Ireland for at least 15 days.

Number 3: Meet your registrar with the appropriate documentation. You must supply birth certificates, and if one or both parties was previously divorced, a Decree of Absolute Divorce that is written in English. If either party is a widow or widower, the death certificate must be supplied.
