With its excellent climate, warm waters and vibrant culture, Bali has been attracting travellers and honeymooners for a long time.
The island is filled with thousands of Hindu temples ranging from the magnificent Besakih, known as the ‘Mother Temple’ - the largest and most significant on the island, to small places of worship in the villages dotted around. The stunning landscape is made up of terraced rice fields, lakes, palm groves, volcanic mountains and huge banyans trees. While along the shore there are picturesque bays circled with spectacular white sandy beaches for those romantic honeymoon strolls.
While on honeymoon in Bali, its worth a trip to the town of Ubud which is an extraordinary metropolis situated in the middle of Bali. This cultural hot spot for glitterati and literati has famous faces walking the street daily and is well known for its art collectors and connoisseurs alike. After taking in Ubud’s central scene you can head to the hills and let your eyes take in the dramatic vista of stunning steep gorges and winding rivers. Then why not indulge yourself with a Balinese massage treatment in boutique resort. For a special honeymoon treat, you can book a double massage for you and your partner.
Along the east coast of the island, Padangbai is a small fishing village offering some of the most isolated beaches in Bali. Awash with brightly coloured fishing boats, the main beach is often used for visitors who wish to catch a boat trip to the nearby island of Lombok.
Further along the coast, there are small coves providing more secluded sunbathing, diving and snorkelling. The restaurants in Padangbai feature good priced seafood and there are plenty of bars and cafes to choose from along the village beach.
From snorkelling to hill walks, from shopping to temple visits, there’s something for everyone. If you’re looking for a honeymoon in paradise, a honeymoon in Bali is for you.
