Wedding Invite Wording

Hi all

Any help here would be appreciated. My fiancee and I are getting married in a small registry office which only holds 45 people. We can't fit everyone in that we would like but the people that can't fit we are inviting to the meal, speeches and party afterwards. How should I word the second lot of invites? I'm not sure the best way to say "sorry you didn't quite make the cut for the ceremony but hey come for the meal and party afterwards!"

    Hi Kirsten! I think we used something along the lines of "please come and celebrate our marriage" and say a meal will be provided xx

    We went with please join us to celebrate our marriage too. Then the time, venue and plan.

    My husband and I were in exactly the same position.

    We said:

    "April & Nathan happily invite Sally & Joe for dinner and dancing on their wedding day"

    Then we / our families explained the situation to people in person. Everyone was very understanding (to my knowledge anyway!) xx
