  • Affordable wedding venues

I'm hoping to get married in 2014 but I thought I'd start looking at venues now. I've received some quotes from venues and the prices are really out of my league from £9000+ and even ones at £12,000!

Does anyone know of any affordable venues in Essex (don't mind where in Essex) which are exclusively for our use on the day?

I'm hoping that they fall within £6000-£7000 and will include food and drinks or venues with no corkage.

    Some extra info:

90 day guests, 20 evening guests

Would prefer if there is a Bridal room and accomodation.

Thanks if anyone can help me out!

Hi, I am getting married in 2013 and was finding the same thing in Essex, I plan on spending 6000-7000.

the heritage on the hill venues (ivy hill/furze hill) are very nice.

Some golf clubs are quite reasonable and also university's sometimes have places to have weddings (e.g. Colchester Essex Uni)

What I did was google cheap wedding venues in Essex and websites came up with lists and its a case of going on each website and make lists of approx cost and you can cancel out the ones that are too expensive.

We will be married: 30th August 2013

Great Hallingbury manor quite frequently have deals posted on Groupon/wowcher so it might be worth keeping an eye on those. That's a lovely venue.

I think the Reid Rooms also comes into that price bracket, although I think you may have to get your own caterers there. Regardless that's also very nice

To be honest everywhere is expensive! but have a look in the vowscher website because they have good offers all the time.. It might help you! I have bought a vowcher for manicure and pedicure, and I saw that they have venues for cheap and different stuff... I hope that this helps you!!!Big Smile

It depends where you are in Essex as it is a big county. Just over the border in to Herts, there is Three Lakes near to Ware.....This venue offers very good prices and the option to have your vows overlooking some great scenery......

Some shots from here are on my home page....

Another option is to have a wedding away from the weekend. This can get some substantial discounts on the weekend tariff......
