  Contact did any of you let people influence your decions of names we have some ideas but last night my mum said thats one to get used to now im thinking well it is up to us but also tiny part of me is thinking ut oh do we re think not thta they are definates but what do you guys think girl - i like liberty may    or liberty esme for a boy - its luca jay or              spencer jay   if anyone has any other ideas please feel free to write them down we like names that are diffrent but not to diffrent lol xx

Everyone and anyone will have an opinion on your name choice so the best thing is keep it to yourself & discuss it here. Parents are the worst for it!

  Contact KB3: I only told two people our name choice, Ninabeanie & Kellfi. We kept telling everyone we'd decided on Johnny or Jimbob to shut them up. Everyone and anyone will have an opinion on your name choice so the best thing is keep it to yourself & discuss it here. Parents are the worst for it!         Exactly what KB3 said i didnt tell anybody though. We also used made up names if anybody asked! I dont think the names you've chosen are that unusual though and i think Liberty is very pretty! Out of the two boys names i prefer Spencer- but i think they are both nice! N Dec 2009  Z Feb 2012

  chids Joined on 16-Oct-2006 United Kingdom Posts 10,242	Contact We told people fake name choices after being fed up of getting their opinions.  E was going to be either Isabelle or Jessica, although we knew she wasn't going to be either name.  She was Eleanor Louise to us from about 25 weeks pregnant. This one is Boris, although we don't have any names we both totally love.  People know it's a fake name though.

  Contact we didn't share a list of names with anyone. I didn't want people's opinions! We chose not to find out the sex so when Luke was born early it took us 3 days to get used to the fact that we'd had a baby, it was a boy and then choose a name! both my sister and SIL didn't announce the name until the baby was born, although they knew and shared the sex from the 20 week scan. I think it's nice to have a little surprise to share after the birth. Don't about your mum, your baby will suit what ever name you choose. I've yet to hear about anyone regretting the choice of name for their baby. x Mum to Luke born at 31/40 (pre eclampsia & HELLPs) 14.09.08   Congenital heart and complex respiratory defects. Hospitalised from birth- 13 ½ months. Tracheostomy for Long Term Ventilation. So proud of my handsome boy xxx

Partly because I didn't want peoples' comments to affect our choice and also because what with having 3 other babies due in the family in the two months before ours, I didn't want to run the risk of anyone pinching our names Although I am one who dwells on what people say, I think it is important to stick to what you like. There are going to be people who don't like your name choices just as there's probably names in the family/friends, etc that you don't like. Everyone has different tastes. I really like Liberty May and Luca. February 2012

But I think it would set a bad precedent to let her choose my child's name. That, and I'm mean! I like Liberty and Luca.

My Mum and Dad know our shortlist but we still have to decide an actual name! There were a couple of groans at some of the names, but they loved the girls names thankfully! Girls names will be one of two now, boys proving a bit trickier! We have 2 relatives due around the same time, 1 in Feb and the after us in May, but they have found out the sex so more than likely already have their babies named like they did last time! My faves are Liberty and Luca from your list, but go with what suits YOU and OH, not what others like! xx Oliver born 03.04.12 at 39+0 weighing 7lb 9oz.... my 21 minute hero!!

  Contact In her first pregnancy my sister told my mum some of their name choices and my mum tld her what shethought of them and she didn;t like the one my sister and her H loved. So they never used it, So we have never told anyone our choices! I love Liberty May and Luca! July 2007 11 days late  February 2009 8 days late  Identical March 2012 born at 36+2 4 July 2006 10 weeks, Sept 2006 5 weeks, April 2011 8 weeks, June 2011 6 weeks
