  • What pushchair did you take on holiday?

We have a bugaboo cameleon and S is currently still in the pram but we'll be moving him to the pushchair in time for the holiday in June. It is rather bulky though and we'll only have a hire car, which probably won't be that big. Did you take your normal pushchair abroad or get a lightweight stroller?

If you did use a lightweight stroller, which one?

My parents have a Boots buggy for when C is at theirs and we borrow that if we go away.  It's actually slightly heavier than our Bee, but it wouldn't matter so much if it got damaged in transit.

I never took my main pram away as I didn't want it to get wrecked - twice I've had my strollers damaged and once it didn't even arrive with the plane!

I've usually taken my Maclaren Quest as it's nice and light and reclines too, have also taken my Baby Jogger City Mini a few times too.  One that folds easily and clips together is useful too.

We take the Zia petite star. It is very light weight and fully reclines. It also has a travel bag to protect it on the plane. It has been on a number of trips with us and we've never had a problem.

I have a Bug Bee.  It's never been damaged and has been on many planes.

We bought a maclaren xt in the john lewis sale.  Has been fab, and is still in use for baby 2.

My other pram at the end wouldn't have fitted in the boot of the hire car on its own, never mind with suitcases as well.

We use a Mcclaren Volo stroller ona  daily basis anyway as it's lightweight enough for me to negotiate stairs, trains & buses etc.

We took that on holiday with us. It's so lightweight & doesn't take up much room.

Does the Zia come with the bag as default or do you have to buy separately? What do you use to protect LO from the sun?

We used the cheapy Hauck one that Asda were selling when we took E abroad. This time I'll take the Zia. It reclines completely.

BG, we bought a UV parasol separately that attaches to the pushchair.

DDL, I've been looking into this too. Mothercare have one that looks quite good called a Pick & Mix and there is an O Baby on offer too. I want a lightweight stroller with extendable hood to help block out the sun but I don't want to pay a fortune as my real pram will be used at home. This one will be trashed and thrown about on planes, in car, beach & pool.

BG - Im not sure if the bag normally comes with the Zia. I bought mine at he baby show last year with the bag and rain cover for £90. I then bought a sun parasol seperately.

At first we took our Aria, latterly, when we wanted to take a car seat we got and took a Zapp. Both were perfect for holidays, airports and luggage handlers.

Excuse for some shopping DDL?Wink get a Maclaren Techno XT.  Lies flat, has a hood with an extra bit zipped in it to make a good sunshade/sleeping shade and folds up well to go in the boot of your hire car.
