  • Those who let their child have the swine flu jab..

How did they react to it, not the after effects, i mean the actual jab? Did they scream the place down in pain or not notice it? Charlottes got hers on Monday (shes nearly 3), straight after me and i dont want it to hurt her Sad

Oh and if you had it, did it hurt you? Embarrassed I never used to mind needles but for some reason thats all changed in the last few years. Think im becoming more of a wimp as i get older Laugh

The injection didn't hurt me but my arm was really sore for 4 or 5 days afterwards.

Izzy cried and was very upset when they did hers (corry probably not what you wanted to hear).  The nurse gave her a chocolate button and she was fine by the time we got to the front doors to leave.

It hurt, but like any injection in your arm.

For S she cried when the needle went in, then was better. She had a sore raised patch on her arm for a few days. Overnight she had the shivers, but they went in an hour or so with paracetomol.

For me I had the red raised patch for over a week. The day after my jabs I also had the shivers and felt fluey, but it cleared up in 24h.

Didn't cry and carried on smiling at the nurse he was 13 months when he had it.

    I've not had one

My daughter didn't cry at all, she was 31 months, she did complain of a sore arm for a couple of days but loved having the plaster on.

My son has an egg allergy so has had to have his vaccine in two jabs.  He cried momentarily with the first one, but I had a biscuit at the ready and this soon cheered him up!  He didn't have any reaction at all.  Next one is in a weeks time.

J had it in jan. I heard him yell from the room next door (I was with A with the HV in one room and J was with H in the nurses office). But after there were no side effects and he forgot straight away!

This isn't flying, its falling - with style

I had mine and it didn't hurt - but my arm was sore for about 2 days afterwards.

Ben didn't murmur when he had his and showed no signs of sore arm either.  He did come down with a slight cold but im not convinced he didn't have that hanging around prior to the injection anyway !

  • Re: Those who let their child have the swine flu jab..

Leo cried for a few seconds as with all his other jabs but I took some chocolate which made him quickly forget about it.

Mine didn't hurt much when I had the actual jab but my arm was very sore for a few days after and I felt quite rough the day after.

Zoe had hers when she was 12 months.  I gave her a bottle while it was being done, she gave a quick yelp when it went in and that was it.  She didn't have any other reactions at all.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?

  • Re: Those who let their child have the swine flu jab..

J is just gone 3 and was fine - not a tear, I talked to him before hand about it, and he got a sticker and some buttons afterwards.

We then went for a haircut and he screamed the place down!

Toby went mental while it was being done, but soon forgot it afterwards and hasn't had any other side effects.
