    Hey Ladies,

    I'm looking for some opinions!

When we first started planning our wedding i said i wanteds calla lillies as the flowers as they've always been my favourite flower but then when i started looking for my dress decided that they might be a bit mordern as i wanted a lace vintage style. So decided to go with roses.

Now i've got my dress and it's not lace or vintage i don't know what to do??

I've attached the link the my dress so you can see it and let me know what flowers would go nicely. I'm open to all suggestions, not just lillies or roses.

I think its also down to the style of bouquet (looking at your dress im thinking a shower bouquet or something very simple but with a bit of length, hence the callas) you will have as well as type of flowers, i think calla's would go lovely with this as would roses, what colours are you going for? x

Do you have a colour scheme to work with?

I think the dress is very glam, so you want to go for bold rather than pretty/fussy bouquet/flowers.  Roses could look fab - but I think it depends on colours.

That's another thing, the colour, as my dress is white so i'm not sure if i'll get proper white flowers.

For the shape i like something like this, but with less green if any at all.

I think i prefer the rounder bouquets then the shower ones!

This has been my hardest decision so far, lol!!

Your dress is elegant and classy so I would definitely recommend the same in flowers i.e., callas, longiflorum lilies, orchids, anthurium, nerine etc (bold and unusual shapes)  I'd also be tempted to go for something long and flowing rather than a hand-tied posy which would compliment the "V" neckline better than a round bouquet, or an over the arm style.  A few ideas for you that I've done in the past:-

I'm definately a "Less is more" girl so i'd have to find a long bouquet that i didn't find too fussy.

I'll have a look on your website Rainbow and see if anything catches my eye, thanks for your help. xxxxx

You may struggle to get baby blue in fresh flowers but could get blue hydrangea which is about the palest blue.  There are lots of blues in artificial though.  A few more photos of the shapes of bouquets you like:-

I completely adore peonies right now, such as these:

but I do think they'd be too vintage for your dress.  However, I think roses would be gorgeous, something like this:

Ok so feel free to ignore my ideas they are possibly slightly random but your dress is very simple and elegant and when I saw it I thought a posy of ananomies in a couple of strong colors would work really well.

( I am not a florist so have no idea if they are suitable byut im currewntly toying with this idea for my BMs as they are in 50s stylee dresses)

I'm not entirely convinced on the idea of having coloured flowers in my bouquet. think i'd rather stick to the white, also my BM's dresses are blue so i think if i added blue to their flowers it'll be too much!

I love the shape of the 2nd roses picture Crantock, that is the sort of thing i had in my mind!

Thanks for all you ideas ladies, it's great getting someone else's opinion!

If it were me I would probably stick to white if possible, and def something other than roses, probably calla lilies or orchids...something like that!! I think they would go really well with your dress.

I think calla lillies would look lovely with that dress as its modern style! My friend had a very similar dress to urs but strapless and she had cream callas, it looked lovely!

Yup - Rainbow's suggestions looked really good - I think lillies are absolutely the way to go - I'm having roses so obv I love them, but I think with that dress you're looking at more classy/elegant so long and thin might work better?
