  Just ordered our wine...

  Contact Just made a (yummy!) lamb dinner and had a potential wedding wine with it. We'd found one previously which was really nice but I recently found another Rioja which was on special offer and worked out really cheap and it was lovely.  If I had to choose from the 2 alone, i would've preferred the first one (£6.55 a bottle) but this one is actually lighter than the first but still stands up to the lamb. It's £6.99 a bottle but currently on offer - 3 for 2.   Plus, I managed to sign up to Tesco in D's name (in a different email address) and get £10 off - so worked out at £4.33 a bottle!!  Bargain! Also ordered the port tonight too which was on special offer too!  22nd May 2010    |     8th July 2011 - 6lbs 12oz

  Contact We only pay £8.50pp and then once that's paid you can take in as much as you want!  They even said if we wanted to serve cocktails we just needed to take the ingredients and a recipe and they'd do it for us!  We're not having a proper dessert course, have gone for a cheese course - with port - and then serving our wedding cake with the coffee. 22nd May 2010    |     8th July 2011 - 6lbs 12oz

Another question actually - how have you worked out how much to get? We are supplying our own drinks up until the bar opens at about 6 so we can't let the wine run out!

  Contact They say a boozy wedding is half a bottle per person (which is about average when you host a big dinner anywhere) We're allowed half a bottle of wine per person (worked out at 0.3 red and 0.2 white) plus half a bottle of champagne per person.  The port is just over 1 glasss each (50 ml measure).  We've actually got quite a tight schedule so should be ok.  We're getting married at 4.00pm, dinner at 6.00pm and disco at 8.00pm so all that is for 4 hours. We've also got shed loads of Schloer as the soft drink!  Think it works out at 4 bottles per table of 8!  Plus about 10-12 bottles of rose for the champagne alternative. 22nd May 2010    |     8th July 2011 - 6lbs 12oz

And half a bottle of fizz per person. And something soft! I need to get myself onto a tasting session at Majestic!

  Contact Awww - thanks Gillsy!! Not sure when i'm gonna go back actually.  It's a family friend so quite laid back.  We're starting our diet and fitness regime on Sunday in which we should lose a stone in 8 weeks so hopefully as late as possible in case it actually works!  Just need to sort the white out now.  We had thought of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc but first taste tests last year said it didn't really go with the lamb so maybe need to find a Chardonnay...  Decisions! 22nd May 2010    |     8th July 2011 - 6lbs 12oz
