  • Mexico Wedding Feb 2011

    Hello All,

I booked my wedding yesterday... so exciting. Orginally we decided on Cyprus but after looking into it for ages realized it was soooooooooooo expensive. When the travel agent showed me what we could get for our Money in Mexico I just jumped to it.

We getting Married Hotel Riu Tequila in Playcar Mexico. 12 of us are flying out 17th Feb for 10 Nights and another 7 people arranging there own thing.  I'm so excited. We got such a deal on the wedding package 985. The list is endless and includes a sit down meal for upto 30!!!!

    Here is the hotel http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/caribbean/mexico/mexico-caribbean-coast/playacar/hotels/clubhotel-riu-tequila.html

Only thing I'm not looking forward to is the 11 hour flight with my 2 and 3 year old boys!!!

That looks fab! We are thinkin about going to Mexico for our honeymoon in January 2012, but were unsure what the weather would be like...but it must be fine that time of year if your'e getting married in Feb :)

    So jealous xxxxxxxx

Arr Congrats. Im going mexico for Honeymoon. Myself & OH have been there 3 times already and love it. The weather will be very very hot, and very minimal rain. If it does rain its usually short sharp burst and then it gets even hotter. I piece of advice which we tell everyone we meet...take very high sun creams. We were slapping on factor 30 every couple of hours and still managed to get burnt on the first day of our holiday!!

    Hi Suzie&Karl.

I usually go around beginning of April/May. I've been to Moon Palace Golf resort, and Sandos Caracol in Riviera Maya (this one, I wouldn't recommend)

The Moon Palace is the most amazing place we have ever been too, and that is where we are going for our honeymoon, which will be May.

Here's a website with all the averages, sun, rain and tempretures etc. I usually avoid months from Aug - Nov as this can be Hurricane season. April & May are ment to be the best months, and boy are they hot then! Also as rain goes, it litterally is short, sharp bursts. We got caught in it one day the rain poured from the sky for around 2 minutes, and we were drenched, 5 mins later we were bone drying and roasting in the sun again!

Hope this helps... I'm a huge fan of Mexico as you may be able to tell. The journey isn't a problem, only when you come home, coz I'm usually depressed. LOL

Thanks ChelleB2BG I have had a look at the website and it says an average on 23...not as hot as we would like but i suppose its better than nothing.

I looked at the Moon Palace, looks fantastic! We were also looking at ahotel called Grand Sirenis in the Riviera Maya which looks fab too.

Travelling is not a problem for us, we have family in Australia so go there every so often.

    Thanks again xxx

Moon Palace is a fantastic place to go. I found the service was brilliant, waiter service around the pools, Golf carts to take you back to your appartment after a drunkern night in the bar, food is very good, with everything you could possibly imagine. I also found, which I think is the same at any Mexican hotel, a one dollar tip to a waiter goes a loooonnng way! If you tip the bar staff they will keep topping you up until the cows come home. They have lots of night time entertainment as well, in fact I don't think we ever left the complex theres so much to do. Oh and all rooms have double jacuzzi baths, which is fab!! - Obviously I'm not biased towards Moon Palace in any way LOL!

that sounds amazing! sounds alot like the other hotel i have saw. Will look at both and see which one is the cheapest for us, budget isnt endless!

Looks like your in the same year as me!

    Hi Nicola.

That Rui Palace looks fantastic. I looked at that one many times!

We can't get exact prices for our honeymoon as ours is Jan 2012, but we ar elooking at 2011 prices just to get an idea, in the hope they wont go up that much.

2011 will come around last, i have been engaged a year today and its gone way too fast! (not that im complaining!!)

    Hey Suzie&Karl

Congratulations on being engaged 1 year :-)

Like you for the last few months we have been working of this years prices and we have managed to get April 2011 prices, this years prices arent to much different than last years so if next year is anything like this year then May (hopefully) will be about £1000 cheaper!!!!!! Fingers crossed.

    Hope that makes sense!!

    SO frustrating isnt it......

    Nicola x
