  ALL NEW INTRO THREAD! Newbies and Old Time Hitchers Come Join!

  Contact Well with so many newbies and old faces popping back up (like me, I've been ignoring wedding planning for a while) I thought it was time for an Intro Thread! Had a scroll back and I don't think there has been one for a while ........ ? Anyway I'll start: Name: Amethyst Location: North London  Met H2B: 17th March 2007 at a Morrissey club night for Paddy's Day. We met through a mutual friend (who I had met on an internet forum funnily enough!). We spent the evening talking, dancing and with him waving lilies in my face.  Got engaged: On my birthday last year in Bruges which is also Valentines' Day. He got down on one knee after breakfast in our hotel room.  Getting Wed: 02/10/10 Venue: Converted barn and marquee on a farm on the Essex / Suffolk borders.  Colour Scheme / Theme: Dark blue (well Spurs blue - H2B's choice!), ivory and lots of natural raffia colour. Bit of purple also for the flowers. Overall theme is quite rustic with lots of lanterns.  Honeymoon - 13 nights in the Cook Islands in the South Pacific then 3 nights in San Fran.  Part of wedding you are most excited about: Err... the honeymoon? We are having fireworks which we are keeping a bit of a secret and our both excited about as we get giddy like kids when watching firework displays!  Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Spending hours and hours scouring magazines and the internet for ideas, making mood boards and on the whole becoming more confident with this planning lark! And sometimes being able to get out of the washing up by saying I am doing 'wedding work'!  Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Realising you can't keep everyone happy with the decisions you make, that and my gym routine and diet (boring).  Your turn ........ !

However he did work abroad for three of those years so i will let him off! Getting Wed: 04/09/2010 Venue: Elmers Court in the New Forest Colour Scheme / Theme:  Hot Pink/Fushia i think! Still in dilemmas about this one! Honeymoon - Mexico hopefully all inclusive Part of wedding you are most excited about: Wearing a big white dress!!! Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Looking at dresses and lots of pink stuff! Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Also realising you cannot keep everyone happy abd getting stressed about trying to! Next....!

August 9th is when we met properly and went on our first date. Got engaged: March 19th 2008 on a snowboarding holiday in Tignes, France. Getting Wed: 07/08/10 Venue: Church and local restaurant Colour Scheme / Theme: Sage green and Ivory Honeymoon - 5 nights in New York and 5 nights in Miami Part of wedding you are most excited about: Loads!! Wearing my gorgeous dress, seeing my h2b standing at the end of the aisle, travelling to the church in our camper van and of course the honeymoon Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Having an excuse to go shopping whilst saving - it's ok if it's only wedding stuff! Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Saving! Not being able to buy new clothes, and hardly going out anywhere is doing my head in!

Name: Alice Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme (it's near Stoke-on-Trent) Met H2B:  Online!  Sort of.. he was friends with a mate of mine, and I saw his pic on my friend's social networking page and thought "oh there he is.."  That was August 2006. Got engaged: Christmas Day 2009 - I'm new to all this malarky Getting Wed: November 2011 - date not yet set, we're stalled a bit on venues at the moment. Colour Scheme / Theme:  Purple, probably, although I keep wavering on this one.  I'm after a sort of victorian gothic theme, big log fires and dribbly candles, but I'm stopping short of bustles.  Much to the disappointment of my chief bridesmaid. Honeymoon: Unsure, H2B wants Italy I think, but I'd prefer to do something a bit more different, Egypt maybe, or even a Scandinavian cruise to see the Northern Lights. Part of wedding you are most excited about: Having all my friends in one place Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Don't really know yet - it may be tasting cakes though, very much looking forward to that! Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Arguing with my mother (already!) about inviting cousins I've not seen for 10 years... Nice to meet you all!

  Contact I'm a real oldie (lol even though I'm only 26!) Name: Lou (Louise) Location: Birmingham Met H2B:  He's my friend's brother (I ignored the 'you dont date your mates siblings' rule [rofl] Got engaged: Christmas Day 2009 - and  still haven't stopped staring at my engagement ring! Getting Wed: Not sure yet. As we have a little one, it'll happen one day, so we're just saving and loking round at all our options right now, before we set a date in stone. Colour Scheme / Theme:  Either very very pale pink, or a very pale gold/champaigne colour, depending on my dress colour choice. Honeymoon: Dream honeymoon would be new york and vegas, a week in each. Think I've got a more realistic shot at a minimoon though, so a few days in the sun will be a sufficient stop-gap! Part of wedding you are most excited about: Seeing h2b's face as I walk down the aisle and our first dance shuffle. He doesnt 'do' dancing, but I'm guarenteed at least one lol Favourite part of Wedding Planning: All of it. I am having los of fun finding everything, then telling h2b and () coming to a happy compromise ( [rofl]) Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Getting everything to fall into a realistic budget!

Location: Cambridge Met H2B: August 2006 on a girly holiday in Turkey.  He was their with his friend.  My friend and his liked each other so we were stuck together!  Friends never went any further, they'll be meeting again at our wedding as bridesmaid and bestman! That's gonna be awkward! Got engaged: 27th September 2008, in our fave Italian and i didn't have a clue, i even shouted at the poor waiter for bringing over champagne when we hadn't ordered it, 30 secs later he proposed! Getting Wed: 08/09/10 Venue: Blue Lagoon, Olu Deniz, Turkey Colour Scheme / Theme: Aqua, white and silver. Honeymoon - tbc! Every week we have another great idea! We're not sure when to have it either as we're away for the wedding, and i'm hoping to be doing my PGCE, so prob will be 10 months later in the school holidays! Part of wedding you are most excited about: Everything, my dress, seeing how everyone looks together in our pretty outfits, oh... and the bit where i get a husband! Favourite part of Wedding Planning: As cheesy as this sounds, joining hitched.  Everything else has just happened, shopping and a wedding planner doesn't leave much for me to do. Part of wedding you are most excited about: Finally being Mrs Tonner after doodling it in school books for years, walking down the aisle and seeing him waiting for me, first dance, and our BBQ reception! Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Having an excuse to write endless lists, make endless moodboards and buy pretty things "for the wedding" Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Probably having no money because I'm saving it all, BUT saying that i do feel very proud to have saved so much!

Met end 1999 when both with our ex partners, started dating 23rd October 2004 (by which point we were both very single by the way!). Got engaged:  In our kitchen on Christmas Eve 2008. Getting Wed: 28th May 2010 Venue: Jacobean hotel in Hertfordshire. Colour Scheme / Theme: Dusky pink and Ivory. No real theme although the tables will be named after Spurs players. Honeymoon - Undecided. It's gone from The Maldives to Hawaii/Vegas to Miami/Vegas to Thailand (this is the current choice). Sooo gorgeous, it was sunset on the beach at Godrevy   Getting Wed: 23/12/10. Proper christmas wedding!! Venue: Restaurant in Benfleet.  Colour Scheme / Theme: Overall theme will be pink & white with roses and snowflakes. Sparkles, sparkles and more sparkles!!! Honeymoon - Not sure yet, if we have the money we're hoping to go to New York for new year.  Part of wedding you are most excited about: My h2b arriving at the venue in the camper van im hiring for him as a surprise!!! And seeing him waiting for me at the aisle, and the big knees up afterwards!!! Got engaged: on the 1st of OCt 2008 Getting Wed: 01/10/10 Venue: Local country church and then a beautiful converted barn for our reception. Colour Scheme / Theme: umm undecided but current favourite Green and wheat/hojney colours with hints of dusky pink in the flowers (maybe but will change tomorrow) Honeymoon - Undecided yet but talking of a cruise to chase the northern lights Part of wedding you are most excited about:ooo tought question but offically becoming Mrs W and seeing all our friends and family Favourite part of Wedding Planning: ummm I think venue shopping and when OH made our save the dates and surprisingly dress shopping.
