  • Confused [*-)] Ever used "Veiled in beauty"

I am trying to find a veil for my wedding and the one that I tried on in the bridal shop is beautiful but costs £260!!!  I can't bring myself to spend that much on it but now that I've tried it on I would really like a veil like that.

www.veiledinbeauty.co.uk are in internet company in Suffolk and they hand make veils.  They seem to have the same type of veil for about a quarter of the price, but usually when something looks too good to be true, it is.

Has anyone used them before or heard anything about them?  Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi I had the same problem...I wasn't going to have one but after trying on eon with my dress it just completed the look..the one I wanted from the bridal shop was going to cost me £250!!

So I went onto th ebay and brought one for £20 with free postage...but I can't remeber the shop name...I will have a look on ebay to see if I can find it for you. Mine was such good quality and I was really pleased with it..you would never tell that wit was only £20.

  • Re: Ever used "Veiled in beauty"

hey BSB - yeah I got mine a while a go - really happy with it.  I wanted something simple, waist length and not too full.

Heres a pic but doesn't really do it any justice.  Was £35......

Thanks very much Gillsy. I've been thinking about having one, but was reluctant to spend £200 on it, that's really helpful -and it looks great! x

  • Re: Ever used "Veiled in beauty"

Am I the only one suspicious that the OP was advertising their own company there? Huh?

A little biased as I work for one of the Uk's leading veil manufacturers, but I wanted to defend the price of veils in bridal shops. Obviously some bridal shops mark up their veils more than others, as also some do deals when buying other items from them. However, to say that brides are being ripped off is a little extreme in my view. Our veils are all handmade in the UK  to order for each bride - no mass production, no cheap labour from India/China etc. The quality of the materials and workmanship is very high, but we do try and keep our wholesale prices as low as possible. The majority of the veils found online are made cheaply in China and are not of very good quality at all. Also online retailers do not have all the overheads that bridal shops have and therefore can afford to sell them cheaper. (And yet so many of wonder why so many bridal shops are struggling!)

Good luck to those who have managed to pick up a good quality veil online, as most I have seen, come nowhere close to those sold in the majority of bridal shops.

    Rant over!!

Hi all I new to this and this is my first post but yes I didSmile if it any help to anyone

and it was all good after trying on loads of veils in the shops , I asked this website if they could make me what I was after.

And the lady there said no problem it came in about 2 weeks and it was perfect  it was hip length with scallops and all hand beaded all for £55.

as for quality it was the best I've seen even better than the designers in the shops for a fraction of the price. more than happy with service from veiled in beauty I will add some pics if I can attach them feel guilt about putting something so beautiful on the floor to photograph ???????????

the pictures doesn't do the veil any justice but I just love it.

Ignoring the blatant advertising and going back to what Zippy said, I got my veil from a bridal shop. It was £200 (just under half the price of my dress!) but was worth every penny. It's fabulous quality. I'm not knocking anyone who's bought theirs online but I looked at doing that and found it very difficult to tell what I was buying. When I picked it up from the shop they had steamed it for me and although I only get to wear it once, I just know it will wear well over the coming years should I decide to pass it on to any daughters that may come along.

If you find a good one online though, go for it. x

There's no way of knowing if the opening post was advertising or not and so will not judge.  But as someone who's ordered her wedding dress online, I shall possibly be doing the same for my veil.  Or going to a non-bridal shop for it.

It does shock me how much shops charge for wedding related garments.  There has been a few posts recently about problems with shops and suppliers and it shows you just how much of a mark-up is made on some items.

I think as long as long as your happy with your purchase, be it wedding dress or veil, then that's all that matters.

    I was suspicious too!

Anyway, I saw a beautiful veil in the shop where I got my dress and it was £180. I got the exact same one, hip length 2tier, studded with crystals for £20 from bay shop deity-doll and the quality is amazing.
