She called and was speaking to H so I could only hear his half of the conversation, but he was saying 'no we won't be telling anyone, you'll just have to wait, there isn't one so you can't do that, they won't let you in'.
Turns out that she'd been asking him to phone as soon as my contractions start so that she can come straight over (takes about 2 and a half hours) and then she can come and see us on the delivery suite or wait in the waiting room so she can come in straight after the baby is born. So H was obviously telling her that she couldn't do this, both of the hospitals we're considering have very strict no visiting on the delivery suite rules and won't allow people to sit around in the waiting room. So he said that there was no point them coming up if they couldn't come in until visiting hours anyway and she was saying surely they would make an exception and let them in as soon as the baby is born
I knew that this would happen and I'm so glad H set them straight without me even having to ask him. I do not want my FIL in the room 10 mins after I've given birth. I want that first hour or two to try and get breastfeeding started and to be just me, H and Gilbert/ina without having to worry about other people.
