It gives me great pleasure to let you all know that Chuckie Egg had a son at 11.22am today, by planned section. Apparently he weighs 8lb 9oz and is beautiful, although he has no name at the moment - can't wait to see him! Congratulations to the Egg family and welcome to their youngest hatchling; here's wishing CE a quick recovery and a happy, restful babymoon getting to know her new arrival.

Update: Thursday 9pm
I've just been to the hospital for visiting - he's very cute and all tucked up like a little bundle. I could feel my ovaries twanging. CE is doing well and feeding is generally ok, although a bit ouchy at times. I've passed on your congratulations and I'm sure she'll be here soon with photographs. The most important bit, though, is that they've decided on a name, so I'd like to officially welcome
Stanley Edward
and hope that he sleeps well for his mum tonight!
