  Contact Not a breastfeeding / formula feeding post just a bit of a query really. I'm watching the Extraordinary Breastfeeding program and there is a lady who has been extended feeding her 8 year old.  The interviewer asked her if her husband had ever tried it and she said "oh, it's not unusual in breastfeeding families to have the baby on one side and the husband on the other".  Is it really normal ?  I can see that some people might try it but this was talking about a more frequent event.   Contact Weeeeell it wasn't normal in the Wodger_woo household.  Obviously Mr Woo had a little taste of my milk, but not straight from the boob. TBH me feeding with my boobs and Mr Woo using my boobs in a sexual manner were so clearly seperated in my head that Mr Woo latching on would have been far too strange for me.    We always joked that Isaac had my boobs on a lease from Mr woo "The miracle isn't that I finished, the miracle is that I had the courage to start"

That said there was a fascinating blog post about BFing in Mongolia recently which said people prize breastmilk very highly and will all drink it given the chance: http://drmomma.blogspot.com/2009/07/breastfeeding-in-land-of-genghis-khan.html I do wish they'd show normal BFing occasionally

And like W-woo i seperate them totally in my head-infact they're not even boobs when im feeding Arlo if that makes sense - but nor are they 29 year old's snacks either

I personally can't think of anything more February 2009 - 36+0 - 6lb 12oz - Emergency CS August 2011 - 39+2 - 8lb 13oz - VBAC

  Contact I have to add though that when I was trying to establish my supply (which didn't happen), it was suggested that my H could help! And I'm fairly certain she was suggesting he suckled rather than doing anything else. FWIW, my H tasted it, and directly from the breast whilst I was still pregnant, although this was a few drops not a nice long drink, and not intentionally, IYSWIM, but if I'd succeeded at BF, I doubt I would have encouraged him to have a drink Tate Alexander 22 June 05; Caleb July 08; Seth Gabriel 16 May 09; Jude Elijah 15 November 10

  Contact Definitely not the norm here.  I BFed A for 16.5 months and during that time, Mr Cat wouldn't even go near my boobs sexually, "just in case they went off".  Lol.  He found it all a bit weird - he was SO proud of me for BFing but that DEFINITELY made them off limits to him, through his own choosing.  Oh, and he'd NEVER have tried BM.  Lol.   Marla Joined on 29-Sep-2005 United Kingdom Posts 4,035	Contact I would think it was relatively unusual to (a) bfeed until 8 years old and (b) tandem feed your husband at the same time!  I really didn't like my breasts being touched at all during the months I was breastfeeding, it felt all kinds of wrong in my mind.

  Contact For our short bf journey, it wasn't the norm here either.  When I was pregnant with Charlotte, I found it quite funny that H wanted to taste breast milk, he was quite open with me about this - he did, not much, just out of curiosity I think.  With Sophie, he didn't - but he did get leaked on accidentally recently, not realising I was still producing milk a bit !!   Charlotte - December 2005 Sophie - August 2009
