Oooh yay! W and I are in. Weekdays are best for us as weekends tend to be busy. Mmmmm, cake.....drool.

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

    Yay! Lots of cake eaters!

    Bouncing for evening hitchers!

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

im going to be brave and hopefully come along.  i always think that i would love to go to the meets then get a bit nervous, but i really would quite like to go.

im back at work now so i will need to see if i can get any proposed dates off, im working the 26th oct not got rota for the 16th nov yet.  but dont plan around me if everyone wants the 26th oct then il see if i can swap the shift.

im in Tameside, but can drive to central manchester, stockport and oldham and i suppose it would be ok to get the train to other locations.

i agree that cake is a must

    North West - check

    Cake - check

At the moment I can do either dates - but the 16th November is not long after my due date. I'm also not feeling brilliant at the moment so have no idea if I'll be late/early etc. Even if I've had the baby I should be able to come as I won't have L on the 16th (but that all depends on when the baby arrives). I will have him on the 26th though. So I'm easy - although if I'm pregnant on th 26th (which is very likely), I would like to go somewhere that I could contain a wilful 18 month old.

So after that long ramble, pretty much I should be able to make it, but it all depends on what is happening with baby 2.  I might have to make decisions on the day. If I'm still pregnant on the 16th and we go to a soft play place - then I will be throwing myself down the slides with the toddlers.

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

I can make the 26th Oct but not the 16th Nov :)

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

Yay! I'd LOVE to come - although it'll be my first "meet" so please will you all be gentle with me?!? Laugh

Anyway, have to check my off duty for the dates but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do both of them. 16th November is my birthday, so it'll be a lovely way to spend the day Smile

Will have a think on about location....

    Thanks for organising F

I could come too if you'll have me (again, a meet 'virgin'!)

I can do the November date and most weekends but can't do the 26th Oct (but don't plan around me if the majority can do the October date)

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

    Oh great, virgins! Wink

So where shall we go? Are there any fabulous soft play places? Where is best for everyone?

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

Preferably somewhere with access to public transport for me but I can manage pretty well if not and as long as there's cake I'm easy Laugh

  • Re: Great Big North West England Hitchers Meet!

No-one has any suggestions? Shall I make some? Where will everyone be coming from?

MOSI in Manchester. Upstairs there's a soft play bit and things that the bigger children can play on. There's also a cafe.

Urbis. If we switch to a tuesday they do Baby Boom. There's lots of things for preschoolers to do. Runs 10-12 and is free.

Head over heels. Soft play in Chorlton. There was a hitched meet here a couple of years ago.

Party and play funhouse. Soft play in Westhoughton. Might be difficult for Han to get to but we could pick her up from the station. We've met here a couple of times and I've been to a few parties. Nice and bright, unlike most soft plays I've been to!

Cheeky Chimps. Soft play in Atherton. Closest to me. Ok place, nice enough coffee.

Rascals. Soft play nr Preston. Good for all ages.

The october date is half term so all of these places will be mentally busy so november might be better?
