I think everyone is different in what they want adn what they like and who they are entertainging etc - for us we wanted a very typically Ibizan rustic feel and to actually be on a beach which is what we have got... Elixir though it had a wow factor didnt feel "Ibizan" more a restaurant that cold have been anywhere in the world and also although there is access down on to a beach it is not actually on the beach so in the evening / night time you wouldnt be on it.

Amante i thought was beautiful but a bit over our budget, Hacienda we liked but agian just felt like a hotel rather than what we feel Ibiza is to us... but as i say everyone is different!

I cant wait now - i just keep looking at the weather and it is rainy at the moment according to BBC - i hope the sun comes out by 6 weeks time!

Another thought.... we had a couple 2 years ago who did this: they stayed on the pre-wedding night at Hacienda, held the ceremony at the amphitheater, after which they had cocktails./ canapes. They then transported all their guests to another venue (which has since closed down). You could transport your guests to Amante and you would then get best of both worlds.....

There are very few feedback I can find on the internet about this hotel as a wedding venue

I can probably put you in touch with some previous brides if you like?

The Hacienda is honestly my favourite venue by far. The food is the best I have tasted at a wedding and the service is second to none. That view for the ceremony is incredible too :-)

It is true that the dancing room is quite plain, but as Eileen says, it looks fantastic with some lighting and the BIG plus is that they don't turn the music down at midnight and you can party all the way to 3am and beyond.

bbmoon:

Our other option is Amante

Amante is also nice and one of very few view venues here that you can have a proper party. They have a strict 2am finish, but the music is at party volume until then.

Atzaro is also worth considering - they are great with big groups like yours.

Hope that helps!!

Re: Planning a wedding in Ibiza

Hi,

I receive notifications on this forum, it is nice to read :) but I don't often reply, Bees - is good at that he is very helpful and young enough to be full of energy, this post though intrigues me, You have obviously done your home work, and you have raised some interesting points, Hacienda is superb, the ampitheatre is a wonderful attraction, the hotel and service is traditional and really is hard to beat, food and service top quality, I would agree about the dance room, seems a little small although with lighting and a smoke machine - it's good (Beeswax can hire those items to you). At a wedding not everyone wants to dance anyway. The reception is held on the outside terrace, you only retire inside later evening for the food and dancing, let's face it when it's dark you could be anywhere anyway! Food and service has to be number one!

Amante, has stunning views too, again always excellent, food good. If you can manage to book on full moon or night before or night after - then it really and truly has the wow factor! Yes it has a disadvantage on size ie: changing dress.

There are a number of other very good locations, Experimental Beach Club, previously Cap Des Falco, has already earned a good reputation with this young new dynamic team. It is well worth a look, you get a wonderful sunset, but again you are limited on space for changing and as yet there are no reports on the food. Although I have already catered the wedding cake for their first wedding and the place looked gorgeous.

Can Curreu and Atzaro, are both wonderful places, your and guests can also stay at these places and both have excellent reviews, I personally like Can Curreu, food is excellent. The disadvantage with these places is that they are inland.

All in all it is a difficult choice, so I am not sure I have helped very much as you already have listed what is good and what is bad about both places, it really has to be your personal preference and experience at the end of the day, you will probably find that one small 'thing' will make your decision. Good luck with all your planning.
