Archie turned 2 a couple of weeks ago. We have no intention on potty training him until the summer particularly as we are expecting no. 2 in April and I know this can unsettle them and undo lots of the good work done.
However, the last 4 days he has really been showing an interest in his potty, bringing it over to me saying "wee wee mummy" and starting to take his clothes off. So he has had quite a lot of 'clothes off' time when he generally runs around like a fidget, stopping every frew minutes to spend no more than a couple of seconds at a time on the potty before, inevitably, piddling on the floor.
Yet, today he plonked himself on it in front of Third & Bird and had a wee
The best bit about it was that he was so proud of himself and kept saying "potty again" to see if he could do a repeat performance! We even had tears at bathtime as he stood in the bathroom sobbing "more potty mummy".
We are very proud that he has taken the initiative all by himself. He moved up a room at nursery 2 weeks ago and is now with the 2-3 year olds so he has obviously been seeing what the older kids are capable of and has been inspired!
