  • Claire Sweeney's Diet Programme this evening

All you need to know is here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1102012/How-Claire-Sweeney-piled-stone---purpose.html

But I got to thinking, as I'm back on the wagon and food is obviously obsessively upper-most in my mind - if you had agreed to do this documentary for silly money and the cameras were rolling and you'd just got the go-ahead from the medical team or whoever ... what would be the FIRST thing you would do, now that you were on a "eat whatever, exercise nonewhatsoever" experiment?

I decided I would get in my car and drive to the nearest bakery and buy a large sticky cake and then ring my H to tell him it was takeaway that evening for dinner.

I'll be interested to see what the first thing Claire does the instant she's given the go-ahead to scoff until she drops.

I've seen the trailers and articles about this programme, and my overriding thought is that she'll do anything for cash Laugh

If I could eat anything I wanted - it would be a giant pizza loaded up with as much cheese as it could carry. I'd probably have a couple of chocolate bars whilst I waited for it to cook. I'd follow it with a major luxury ice-cream blowout.

(mutters under breath about stupid low carb regime)

Why pay Claire Sweeney to deliberately change her body shape??  Use me!!!!  Plus...it's kind of annoying that her 'new' body shape is actually one I'd be quite pleased with.  It's hardly obese is it?!?!

I just eat whatever I want anyway so no different for me. Mind you I look a lot worse in a bikini than either of those shots of CS. Laugh

I'd go to my local (well 20 miles away) lovely indian and get chicken puri, plain naan, chicken tikka masala, chips and boiled rice.  I'd then after recovering from that have 2 crunchies.

Oops sorry...forgot to actually answer your question in my annoyance!  Definitely takeaway for me...massive chinese! Big Smile

  • Re: Claire Sweeney's Diet Programme this evening

I'm quite relaxed about what I eat, so I probs wouldn't change much. There's no way she looks like she weighs 11 stone in the after pic though.

  • Re: Claire Sweeney's Diet Programme this evening

Ditto.  I can pretty much eat what I fancy these days and not worry about it too much.

I also don't think that putting on 22lb in 6 weeks is all that amazing really.  No need to gorge yourself...you can easily put that on by being sedentary and eating rubbish.  I actually don't see the point of this programme other than for Claire Sweeney eliciting sympathy for her desperately boring outpourings on her weight (and FWIW, she looks perfectly fine with the additional weight and a few years younger as well).

11st 10lb they reckon! I am the same height as her and weigh 12st but, as I say, look a LOT worse in a bikini. But it's just how you carry it isn't it? She is an appley shape so she has gained weight around her waist while her arms and hips have stayed relatively slim.

From having had fluctuation weight for the last few years I find even if say I were to put on x amount in 6 weeks, it would take a lot longer to than 6 weeks for the full x pounds to actually "show" on me and vice versa.

I think the programme seems rathe rpointless but will probably watch it anyway Laugh

    LOVE trash TV like this!

For me, it would have to be a visit to the chippy for a Holland's meat and potato pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy, all washed down with a bottle of Ben Shaw's Dandelion and Burdock.  Drooooollllllllll.

  • Re: Claire Sweeney's Diet Programme this evening

The thing is she's still in her healthy BMI range in both photos (21 in the first, and, just, at 24.9, in the second)

"The 37-year- old actress deliberately gorged herself for a TV documentary to show how easy it is to become obese."

5ft 8in, 11st 10lb and a bmi of 24.9. Harldy obese!!! At 24.9 she's JUST in the "normal " range, at 25-29.9 she'd be classed as "overweight" She'd have to get to a BMI of 30 (197, which would be 14 ston 1lb for Ms Sweeney) Think she's got some was to go before she's obese! (and, be honest, how many people would love to look like her in picture 2 and be classed as obese???)

In my opinion, there is NO way that there's 2 stone difference in those pictures. Yes, she's a little more "rounded" but she's slouching too. Easy money???

    Well said!

Seriously, I want the 2 mins I took to read this thread and that article back. I mean, what an utterly pointless piece of journalism and tv.

Woman eats more than she needs, woman gains pounds. You don't say!

The write-up (in our tv guide) about this programme really annoyed me. CS is quoted as saying how unhealthy she was at the higher weight, and a size 12. She is quoted as saying we all see 12 as normal, but actually it's very unhealthy indeed. If she was found to be unhealthy at that weight, surely it is more to do with what she's been eating, not the weight itself. I fear it's going to fuel the obsession with size zero which others (eg Louise Redknapp) have tried to show is dangerous.

To answer the OP - I would basically do what she's done, eat what I want, when I want (probably lots of chocolate and chinese food, especially crispy duck pancakes - yum!!).

Thanks Zebra. Glad it's not just me.

Any bets on when she's release a fitness dvd (or rerelease her Perfect Fit with Weight Wathcers and Claire Sweeney DVD)....more royalties???
