Morning Ladies

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Not much news from me. I have an appointment with the hospital today. It's just the follow up appointment about the Cervix dilation so hoping to speak to someone about IVF while i'm there.

I haven't been on for a while and I was really sorry to hear Mrs Lf's and RJ's sad news, life is just so cruel sometimes. Big to you both...

Spring - good luck at the hospital today

Well its CD 4 for me today, AF started late on Christmas Day (fabulous timing!) and a stinking cold started Christmas Day as well.  Lovely! Can't shake off this cold, it's making me feel rubbish.  Still, it's nothing compared to what has happened to some people recently so I won't moan.

Got a couple of days off work before going back on 31/12 so will watch more TV, eat more chocolates and use more tissues no doubt!!

On the DTC front, we have got the go ahead to start NHS IVF next month (exciting and scared all at the same time!)

Lots of love to you all and let's hope 2009 is our year for BFPS!!

SB - how exciting that it's starting next month...hope you're feeling better!

As for me, I posted a seperate thread about my IVF freakout...for the moment, I'm waiting to see if AF is going to arrive, so I can take 250mg of clomid, if not I've to take provera again, which turns me into a crying mood swinging wreck so really hope I don't have to take it!

Spring - hope appointment is helpful

Saus - IVF in Jan - a very good sign!  We were Xmas day AF twinnies (stinks, doesn't it!).

Sunnystar - read your other post with interest, we have what I think will be our last hosp appointment before moving to IVF or some major intervention at the end of Jan.  Trying to decide whether to go private or try our one (and only) NHS shot - but local clinic outcomes are not as good as private and I am an old lady (37).  Have to convince H that it will be money well spent (could be tricky...).  I hope for you that AF is late by 9 months and your dilemmas are all resolved.

Yes I agree Christmas Day AF is rubbish, it's typical of my luck this year to be honest!!

Like you I am an "old lady", 37 next April.

We had the dilemma over private/NHS IVF and my H was definitely keener on the lattter, but appreciated my concern over the  long nhs waiting lists.  However miraculously the NHS IVF waiting lists at our hospital have come down dramatically hence our pending IVF treatment. I am still concerned about the success rates at our NHS hospital compared to CARE manchester (private choice) but I am going to give it a go.  We are very very fortunate that we have three attempts on the NHS but if they don't work, we will be heading down the private route.

Good luck and I will be watching your progress with interest - it seems we have a lot in common!

Yes, Sunnystar, money is a worry - recession and all, and my hours (and pay) are being cut in the New Year.  I have been saving hard, but not sure how much I will be able to save on reduced hours.  Am hoping that reduced hours = reduced stress and maybe we'll get a magical sticky BFP in Jan.

Saus - I shall also be keeping an eye on you - I quite like the idea of being your internet IVF stalker

PR - I really hope things do work out that way for you!

Sunnystar, we can do virtual not shopping for shoes!  I was v good and didn't buy these boots in the sale.

Morning all.  One of my very few appearances on this thread!  I'm at work which is utterly boring and quiet!

Best of luck with the IVF and appointments ladies.  Our initial consultation with the clinic is next Friday.  Not sure what to expect, but not long to find out.  We get 2 goes through the NHS and it's with a private clinic rather than an NHS hospital.  I've looked at their website but don't know whether their figures are good or not!  Is there a website with comparisons?  I'm on CD 34 today with no symptoms whatsoever but I'm not going to get my hopes up as they've been dashed so many times before.  I'm usually in agony with sore bbs well before now, but I had a cycle like this a few cycles ago and AF turned up over a week late.  I might test on NYE if nothing's happened by then so I know if I can drink or not!

I did indeed! I'd hidden them as there weren't enough to go round when the ILs were here! So now I'm going to eat their's too!!! I shouldn't, as I've had awful constipation lately, but seeing as I've also just had a prune Activia yoghurt, there should be a low rumbling over the east of England shortly! How are you? I keep an eye on you all, you know, on this thread! I'm watching......!!!!

I'm good thanks HB.  Just gearing up to make a whole load of New Year's resolutions that I will fail to keep - well, all except one <determined look icon>.  Will await the tremors...
