Wow I got a bargain today!

I had to go down to the recycling place to take some metal sheets off the garage we've just pulled down and whilst I was there I had a look around. If there's anything you want you can take it and you just need to sign a disclaimer. So I picked up a bed! One of these:

The only problem with it is that one of the things off the bottom corner post has come off but I can do something with that.

I have been told though that I'm not allowed to go down there on my own again though [laugh]

Recycling place! Even I wouldn't venture into the tip to get a bargain [laugh] It's only the base though, no mattress.

Yeah it's like a freecycle thing I suppose.

We've got a beautiful cabinet in our lounge that my Dad found in a skip[laugh] Granted, when he found it, it was painted a vile shade of green, and had a plastic top. We restored it - it's solid oak & really pretty. We get loads of comments about it!

I'd have no problem with sleeping on a bed from a recycling centre (with a new mattress, of course). Sounds like you've been really lucky!
