About time I introduced myself ....

Hi, Like many others I have been lurking on this forum for a while and completely addicted :-). I think its a great place for inspiration and advice. Before I post my own pleas for advice I wanted to introduce myself. I'm getting married on the 30th May 2013, we are having a beach wedding in USA with 20 guests followed by a reception for 120 guests a few weeks later in the UK. Initially family were disappointed when we said we only wanted a small wedding but they now understand that this is what we really want and now happy for us. Me and C have been together for 10 years, and got engaged at Xmas last year.... Well that's a little about me, look forward to sharing ideas, inspiration with you all. Happy wedding planning :-) Xx

Hi we are also having a very small intimate wedding,  Besides us we have only eleven guests - our three daughters, my mum, my brother and his girlfriend, my sister, her partner and son, and my OH parents.  We have been together coming up for ten years and both wanted to spend the day with just the people who mean the most to us.  we are getting married in a castle in County Durham in April 2013.  We have only had it booked for a couple of weeks and I havent organised that much yet as we have been getting lots of work done to our house!

Have you started dress shopping yet?

I have done a few things, booked venues (USA and UK), TOG (UK), Band (UK), Magician (UK), Fireworks (UK), bought my dress, shoes, BM dresses and some accessories ... feel reasonably in control at the moment although panicking about USA celebrations (the most important bit) as we havent sorted much, but going out there shortly to meet vendors etc, so really looking forward to that.

It seems ages away at the moment, but once xmas has passed it will fly by im sure.

Hopefully your plans will start coming together now your venue is booked.

Hi I am starting dress shopping next week!  Excited but a bit nervous too!  So far I have booked venue and registrar, booked florist, have all my stationery ... invitations, menus, place cards, thank you cards, order of the days.  I have our favours sorted too. Have chosen bridesmaid dresses.  Still need my dress, shoes etc and suits for my OH, his dad and my brother.  Everything is in the one venue for us, so thats good.  Will be meeting with the wedding co-ordinator early January to choose our menu.  Still need to sort photographer soon although I have started looking and made a few enquiries.

I think I am still ok for time, although the weeks are going by pretty quickly! You are right about Christmas ... it will be here before we know it and then not long at all !
