Mrs Rawe Wedding Report **FLASH**

Bit of background:

Chris and I met back in 2008 at Harley street. We were both having consultations for gastric band operations.

We met in the waiting room and startedtalking.

Short story is Chris had his and it work sgreat, I had mine and it didn’t work :-(

We were engaged after 9 months and set the date for 2012 so we could afford the wedding.

6 months before the wedding my dad suffered a severe stroke which left him paralysed on his right side and unable to speak.He has been having intense physio so that he could walk me down the aisle.

Saturday 25th

We packed up all the cars with dresses, kilts,centerpieces, table plans etc and made our way to the venue.

We unpacked and had our briefing with the events staff.

Then we put all the dresses In the rooms.

By 4pm all the bridesmaids, my dad, my mum, in laws etc had arrived and we had our rehearsal.

My dad did really well in the rehearsal we worked out as the aisle was really long I would walk halfway on my own and then meet him halfway.

My sister is also disabled and is in a wheelchair but was determined to walk and she also did really well.

Whilst we were doing the rehearsal the heavens opened and we were treated to a thunder storm with lightning and hailstones!

After this we all went to nandos for dinner and then Chris went home with the best man to our house and I stayed at the hotel with mum and the 6 bridesmaids.

We all went into one room and drunk champagne and ate Belgian chocolates and French macaroons all supplied by thebest man, which I thought was a lovely touch.

Sunday 26th.

I had been awake since 4am chatting to my mum, so when my alarm went off at 7am I was really excited. I leaped out of bed and opened the curtains to see glorious sunshine! I was so releaved.

I then went running down the corridor knocking on all the bridesmaids doors “Im  getting Married Today”

We all got washed and dressed and made our way down to breakfast.

The girls all enjoyed a full English whilstI sipped a red bull, I really couldn’t stomach any food.

As we finished breakfast the bridesmaids hairdresser arrived, so 1 by 1 they all took turns in having their hair curled.

Then my hair dresser arrived and I sat andhad mine done.

The photographer and the florist arrived and when I saw the flowers I burst into tears. The flowers were so beautiful I couldn’t get over it.

Then  came the make up,

Then the cake turned up and again more tears.

Loving it so far, can't wait for the rest!

Loving the report so far...and my god I think that might be the most beautiful cake I have ever seen! x

Then there was a knock at the door and the hotel walked in with an ice bucket with my favorite Lansons Pink Champagne.

Along with this was a card and three wrapped gifts.

The card read: I want you to be the mother to my children as you are the woman of my dreams. along with some other slushy stuff lol

The first gift was an amazing bottle of perfume by Lanvin called “Marry Me”

 The second was a pair of juicy coutures unglasses I had wanted for the honeymoon

And the third was a gold Swarovski tennis bracelet.

I cried again, so more make up !

Then the photographer said its time to get into our dresses, so I got into my underwear while the bridesmaids got into their dresses.

When they were done it was time to get me in my dress.

By this point I was still very calm,everyone else was nervous but I was fine.

We had a few pics done and then it was timeto go.

We walked through the hotel and went into the bar, I got a bit shaky here but still I was fine.

I saw our car in the car park all done up with ribbons and I got so emotional.

I then had to go and see the registrar on my own, the registrar asked me how do I sign my name. So in the air I drew my signature and she laughed and said “no what do you wirte” I felt like such a plonka.

Then it was time, I heard the piano start to play “ill be there” by the Jackson 5  and my mum walked in with my uncle

Then 2 by 2 the bridesmaids went.

Then it was my turn, as I had 6 bridesmaids I couldn’t see much as they were infront of me.

But when I reached my dad he was sobbing-and not quietly.

He was so emotional he was almost hysterical. I really didn’t think he was going to manage to walk.

So I took his hand and I reassured him told him to breathe and everythings fine. When we got to the front chris turned around and he was welling up.

I kissed my dad and then took chris’s hand and told him to breathe lol!

I didn’t have time to well up myselfI was too busy making sure the men were alright.

We breezed through our vows, I didn’t even notice anyone else in the room.

Lovely so far. You dress is massive! I love it :)

Then we signed the resgister and I could feel my dress was very low, the way I sat I was so conscious of my boobs falling out, it was really awkward. I didn’t have much room to maneuver myself on the chair.

Then we walked out to “your love keeps lifting me higher”

It was so lovely to get outside and just spend a second with my husband.

Then everyone joined us and I was given sooooo many horseshoes.

Then the photos, I really enjoyed this bit.

I saw on the veranda my confetti cones were being given out so I knew it was time for the big picture.

The confetti fell on all the ruffles on my dress and it looked so pretty.

You look absolutely stunning. x

Everyone then took their seats for the wedding breakfasat.

The toastmaster announced us and we walked in as “ Mr & Mrs Rawe”

As I sat at the table I instantly noticed something was wrong. For some reason my drink stirrers were sticking out of the Victoria sponges??

I wasn’t laughing at the time but I can laugh about it now!

No one noticed they thought it was a lovelylittle touch ! haha

We loved the afternoon tea.

Our centerpieces were big bowls of penny sweets-one sweet type per table

bannana table, lips table, cola bottles etc.

Half way through the meal everyone got up and started walking around the room and helping themselves to each others sweets. It was so lovely to hear everyone talking and laughing and everyone came up to the top table to get our sweets.

Then we cut the cake.

After the meal was done we went to the veranda to have a breather and we had a separate evening photographer-we had Hitched’s very own HIB –Pavone Photography, they are a couple called Louise and Sam  and I cannot speak highly enough of them. Their work is so fantastic.

The first dance was lovely, we didn’t realise how long the song was.

We danced to amazed by Lonestar.

Then the second song was Bruno mars-amazing and we asked everyone to join us.

The third song was a surprise my mum had“my girl” played just for me and her to dance to.

Then the BBQ and the Hog Roast were open and everyone wen to the veranda for food.

Chris and I used this time to have a few minutes together before the reception started.

After everyone had had enough food everyone went to the dancefloor and it stayed full all night long.

We all did oops upside your head, YMCA, ChaCha slide. Then the bridesmaids asked for the inbetweeners song, as on my hen night in spain this was our anthem so everyone got up and did the dance.

I didn’t want New York New York as our last song, I wanted Never forget by take that. So the DJ got everyone in abig circle and chris and I went round everyone in the circle and said goodbye and thanked everyone for coming.

By 1am everyone started to go and there was only the people who were staying at the hotel left. So chris and I went back to our honeymoon suite where I was dying to get out of the dress-because I was uncomfortable, not for anything else.

I had managed to not go to the toilet ALLLLLLL day, so I had a really big wee lol!

We both had a cold shower and sat on the bed in our bathrobes and just spoke and laughed about the day.

We realized we both hadn’t eaten and were starving so we ordered cheeseburgers from room service.

And yes we then did the deed!

Monday 27th-

We went down for breakfast and it was lovely to chat and see everyone again. I really enjoyed this as it was like a social mingle over sausages lol

It was really relaxed.

When we got home we opened all our gifts and cards and were so overwhelmed by everyones generosity.

Chris opened one of the bottles of champagne and ran me a bath with candles it was so romantic.

Wednesday-29th

Off to Gatwick for our honeymoon. We got toGatwick and checked in, we didn’t try for an upgrade as we reallydidn’t think we would get one, but the check in desk noticed our mr &mrs luggage tags.

Still no upgrade.

When we got to the gate to board the planethe lady scanned our boarding passes and said “oh” I thought oh noplease don’t be a problem.

WE HAD BEEN UPGRADED TO 1ST ! sowhen we got to the plane we turned left not right.

We were shown to our booth and served champagne at the bar !

It was the easiest flight ever .

Then we had two wonderful weeks in Jamaica and now we are home.

I will leave you with a few more flashes.
