Anyone had cakepops?

Pook82, 3 of July of 2012 at 10:22 Posted on Planning 0 20

Has anyone had cakepops (or is it popcakes?!) instead of a wedding cake? or as well as a wedding cake?

If so, any recommendations in the SW London/Surrey area?!

I'm after kids themed ones to keep them entertained in the evening. Animals or something. www.notonthehighstreet.com have some beautiful ones!

We had cake pops for the evening guests and they went down really well. Based in Northamptonshire so can't help with a supplier recommendation unfortunately. She also made our cupcakes and cutting cake. All delumptious. If anyone wants to have a look the company is called Angelina Cupcake. Highly recommend her.

We had some delivered free to work the other day and they were absolutely delicious - literally was saying "mmmmmmm" the whole time I was eating it (which took about 10 seconds!). I thought it might be cool to have them instead of a traditional cake, or maybe have then but still have one cake for the "cutting the cake picture". hmmmm just need to find someone to make them now!

We might be leaning towards them after our initial meeting with our cake maker. They really sold them to us! Despite the fact that we're already having a huge cake, individual cakes and a sweet buffet! Cake pops look awesome though!

I would go for it, they look brilliant and I dont see how they are different from serving up cupcakes, you probably wont have loads of half eaten cake left around with them!

I've ordered cakepops as favours for the children (adults are having individually packaged cupcakes as favours) but never seen them done instead of a wedding cake - if they were arranges in squares and then stacked in tiers like a traditional wedding cake I bet it'd look amazing!

We had mini 3 tier wedding cake pops as our wedding cake on a tiered stand. Everyone had one to take away with them and we had a top tier for the traditional cutting cake. We made our cake pops ourselves and it has since become a business for me.
