Question about candle centrepieces

  • Question about candle centrepieces

Ok random question, if you were to use candles as part of your centrepieces would you light the candles in the day?

We have bought some lovely candle holders to go with our centrepieces as a 'trio' but the room is really light in the daytime and I'm wondering if we should only bring the candles out at night? We don't want it to look silly.

Is anyone else having candles as part of their centrepieces and are you lighting them when it's still light?

    X

They would look nice lit but check with your venue to see if they allow it. Many don't.

  • Re: Question about candle centrepieces

Im having candles and will be lighting them :)
They are prettier when lit, and their purpose isnt to give 'seeing light', they are just there for show

  • Re: Question about candle centrepieces

Ditto with Daffodil Waves... very few venues these days will allow candles to be lit especially with candelabra as it sets their sprinkler systems off if they have one or their insurance doesn't cover them for allowing naked flames in a public area.  Another reason why some don't allow is that if candles are lit on an evening and people have too much to drink - the two don't really mix.  Some will allow candles if they are low such as tea lights or in covered glass but always worth checking to avoid disappointment on the day.

We had our candles lit until the evening part got underway. The venue had no problems with it though others are a bit fussier about these things. It creates a nice atmosphere over dinner and ours were scented so it made sense to light them from the start of the reception.

we are thinking of having candles in candelabras i checked with our venue and they allow lit candles.  Can anyone advise me where to get reasonably priced candelabras?

  • Re: Question about candle centrepieces

We are having candles and will be having them lit untill they go out by themselves, they will be in the middle of the table so unless my guests are planning on dancing on the tables they should be pretty safe!
