  • Photo Booth at my brother's wedding or not?

    Hi,

I'm helping my brother and his fiance organise the entertainment for their wedding next month.

We have been looking at photo booths - what's your thoughts?

Booths are all over - looking for something a little different? Found a few, but some don't print on the evening... does that matter? Will guests really care so long as they are having a good time?

What is the standard price? As there is quite a difference out there...

Sorry for all the questions... need to get it right.

    Karen x

We made our own, there was no way I was paying £600 for a photobooth! It went down a storm!

To be honest I don't really see the point of a booth that doesn't print immediately - that's the fun part of it, that you can mess around and see the photos straight away.

We're getting married in Italy where photo booths aren't that common. I'm bought a Fuji Instamax camera instead so guests can take photos and add them into the guest book.

We had one, paid £475 for 3 hours and it came with a booth butler, photo print for each peron in the booth, photo pront for you and a high res CD with all the print.

Everyone had such a great time in there, i would do it again.

You can see the photos on a digital camera straight away! Wink

Our photographer offers one for £150 on top of the package we've bought. We're having a pair of photographers and the lady will set up a curtain and have props and take the photobooth pics during the evening do.

Getting hitched on 24th August 2012!!!

    Hi Sian_Tiffany,

Do you mind telling me which company you got yours from? I have looked up a bunch, and they all seem to be of a similar price, but msot of them only offer one print out, and ideally, we'd like it so each guest in the booth could get one.

Hi, the company was called Solent Studios and the photobooth part is called Funky Photobooth: http://www.funkyphotobooth.com/funky-photo-booth-hire-prices ive had a look and the price is now £495 but they were great and id use them again.

Mrs C.... tell me more!!! I REALLY want to do my own (also in the I want one but not paying £600 for it group!)!!

    PS love your picture Yes

It was pretty much what you can see! An empty photoframe, a blackboard and lots and lots of dressing up stuff!

Our togs took the first few pics (its on our video too) and then guests just got completely carried away, it was ace!

One recommendation, have someone in on the act who can show people how it's done... sometimes people aren't too sure but once the penny has dropped they have a whale of a time!

I am well excited about mine - have gone with the photographers one so its not printing them out.  I am going to use it as a reason to get people onto a photo sharing website (which one to be decided) - hopefully means they will also upload some of theirs while they are there :)

Although I know they are really common I don't know that many of my friends weddings that have had one - and think they will all love it.

We are having one and am really looking forward to it! I think when you are on the wedding circuit (as in forums etc) all the time they feel to be everywhere but a lot of people do not go to weddings frequently so my bet is that most people wont have seen one before.

We are using a company who gave us photobooth for 3 hours + double prints and a guest book for £350. I think its a good price and I am really looking forward to having something a bit different for the wedding

  • Re: Photo Booth at my brother's wedding or not?

We had a photobooth. I've never seen one at a wedding and none of my guests had been to a wedding with one before either so everyone loved it and said how unusual it was - I guess it depends on how many weddings your guests go to as someone else has said. We had a company that supplied two staff to operate the booth, everybody that was in each picture got a copy, not just double prints, and it also doubled up as our guestbook. That was the best bit for me, I see so many guestbooks get ignored but everyone wanted to fill this one in because it meant going in the booth. Young and old loved it and I would happily recommend the company, they're called Rentabooth.

We have booked one with a booth operator, prints out two sets of photos, the whole shebang. BUT the last two weddings we've attended both had one, and to be honest I didn't give it a second thought and I didn't bother using it...I am genuinely considering cancelling ours and losing the £200 deposit, and putting the £300 we have yet to pay behind the bar!

    Hi Karen

We are getting married Aug 2013 and using www.hire-a-photobooth.co.uk They are reasonably priced (there price doesn't include those hidden charges) and very helpful.  They don't advertise it but will also do you keyrings and novelty gifts for your guests.  Hope this helps.  Emmy
