table plan help and ideas please *flash*

im having afternoon tea with a vintage/shabby chic feel.

my colours are purple and pink

the table plan idea i love is the one below

now i dont think it would fit with our wedding if it didnt have some colour in it! so i feel i should put some colour somewhere, im thinking of backing the names on colourd card but do you think purple card would look too harsh against this background?

do you think i should keep it neutral or put in some colour ??

Is it bright purple and pink that you're having? Because I think that pastel purple / pink as backings would look so pretty?

yh its cadbury purple and hot pink, which seems to be a shame now lol !

I think a splash of colour would look fab!

I'd put some colour in it, if you think that the backing card would be too harsh maybe you could put some colour in with some gems or small ribbons or something.

OK well iv sat and made my table plan today and iv had to make a few versions- mainly as my aunts abby is due on the day so iv got one plan with her in and one plan with her out lol

what do you think with the colour?

iv not stuck anything down so its not permanent !

now i know there is no table numbers- but the gap that has been left will have a penny sweet stuck above the tables. as instead of table numbers we have table sweets. each table will have a big bowl of one kind of sweet, this is our sweet buffet as such, each place card is tied with ribbon to a sweet bag and each table will have the below poem:

What about finding some vintage style wallpaper with purple colouring on? I think that's what the background material is maybe?

thats what my mum said, im planning on a trip to homebase/b&q tomorrow, as i have seen an ivory background with a lilca/lavender damask/flock pattern. so was going to try that idea maybe .

do you think it looks bad if i cant find anything though ?

Sorry I posted that before I saw your pictures! I feel really bad now. I like the purple with pink ribbon

It might be worth trying each way and seeing which looks better?

I've come up with another random idea but not sure it'll look as good, but I noticed the bunting on your picture and wondered if you could use that idea somehow?

to be fair i thought that with the bunting, as it is everywhere at the wedding. but it would have to be so tiny at the top of each table i thought it might look silly

We have gone for this one, mainly because we have the exact same mirror hanging on the wall lol, savings!!!
