  • Wedding night accommodation in Yorkshire

Hello to all you Yorkshire brides out there!

Has anyone stayed at Tankersley Manor hotel?  We are looking for wedding night accommodation and this hotel seems to be the best choice but would be nice to know if anyone has stayed there and what it's like (don't trust trip advisor cos generally people only comment on there if they have had a really great or really rubbish stay and there's nothing in between!!)

    Any help would be great!

    Hi,

Tankersley Manor is only 15 mins ish from me I've not actually stayed there myself but I've heard others comment on it in a positive way.

Where are you getting married ?

Its only about 15 minutes from me too...I've heard nice things about it but not stayed myself.

Where are you from?  have you looked at Wortley Hall just down the road from Tankersley or Whitley Hall which is also in the same area? Both are lovely but I'm afraid again I havent stayed at either.

    Thanks 2b_MrsB and Dana_Leigh!

We are getting married at The Huntsman Inn in Holmfirth but want to stay somewhere else for our wedding night where none of our guests will stay so we thought Tankersley would be good as it's about 30 mins away from the reception venue and it's also close to the M1 for our trip down to Heathrow the next day.

We have tried the other two you suggested Dana_Leigh but unfortunately they are all booked up (suspect that as they are smaller hotels they block off all their rooms on a Saturday in case they get a wedding booking)

Think we will go with it and see what we get!!

    Thanks!!

  • Re: Wedding night accommodation in Yorkshire

Ah yes Wortley doesnt block any rooms off as we couldnt even do that for our wedding but come to think of it, rooms get booked up a year early! sorry!

Is Holmfirth up near leeds?? What about something like Holiday Inn Barnsley, that looked lush when we went to look, or a bit further down Holiday Inn Royal Victoria in Sheffield - My OH is a night manager there and I know that its nice :)

    Hi yorkshirecat,

You could look at Ardsley house in Barnsley, Its only about 10 mins from the M1 and no further from Holmfirth than Tankersley, My OH and I have attended several evening do's there and always stay over night, its only 10 mins from home for me but my friend and I are on a mission to stay in ALL the suites Laugh, Its prices are lower than Tankersley Manor and they have lots of suite to choose from which are all different (I'm sure if you contacted them and arranged a suitable time, they would allow you to look around as many as possible before hand so you can choose). The staff are friendly and helpful and the food has always been fabulous, There is leisure facilities but I'm not sure if you'll be needing/wanting to use them Wink

    Thank you ladies!

We have booked one of the suites at Tankersley Manor - got a couple of positive reviews from some family friends too so that sealed the deal!

    Excited now!!

Our daughter got married at The Huntsman - fantastic food!  They got the Bridal Suite for free so they accepted the offer.  We all stayed there too.  I've done weddings at The Tankersley Manor and it is a lovely venue but never stayed there though.
