Please help settle our 'argument' re: shoe colour

OH and I have differing opinions on the colour of shoes for himself and the other groomsmen. Before I get 'told off' I know the suits/shoes are down to my OH's decision at the end of the day but just wondered what you lovely ladies prefer/think would look better/would choose for groomsmen if you had the choice!

We are having grey morning suits, with ivory waistcoats and blue cravats & hankies. OH will have pinstripe trousers and all the other groomsmen will have plain grey ones.

One of us thinks brown shoes would look best and the other (purposefully not telling you who likes which colour lol) thinks black shoes would look best.

Black with grey every time. Brown imo just doesnt go with grey or dark colours and is more suited to lighter colours which have a shade of brown to them, for example beige if that makes sense

I of course want them to wear BLACK shoes...OH doesn't have much of a dress sense, I help choose most of his clothes and told him brown would look awful but then his BM asked him today what colour suits we're having, OH said grey and BMs reply was 'Oh yes I like grey...and brown shoes yeah?' To OH's delight...hence the post!

I think I've managed to convince OH to have black shoes now lol
