2nd time round

Hi im Tracy and new to all this.  I have been married before for 16yrs (18 wen i got married) then things started to go wrong, so we got divorced, i started seein some one else but it was never right so after 8 yrs (yes i no took a long time to see i was nuts) we went our separate ways, i then said i would never go out with any one again it was too much pain and i couldnt put my kids through it again, but then i met the most wonderful man every (i no your are all wonderful too  he treated me with respect love and understanding, some thing that i had not had before, then last august (25th 2011) we went out for our anniversary and he popped the question, i said yes straight away , my kids love him and get on so well with him my parents think hes great and his parents are ace, so on the 24th august 2013 i will be getting married at the old golf house in Huddersfield every one is so excited,

all the planning is mostly done as i like to plan ahead, but i have had the worse news ever my dad has never been ill all his life just colds and stuff but now we found out 2 wks ago that hes got cancer and its breaking my heart, we have been told that he could make it to christmas but he wont make it to my wedding, how do i carry on, every thing seems now to be on hold my life as come to a pause, my dad is my life, he as always been there for me.[:'(] i was excited for him to be walkin me down the isle again 

Would love to hear from any one who is getting married around the same time as me

Welcome to Hitched. I was in a similar situation, divorced for years and determined to stay single (had 2 kids), getting involved seemed like way too much trouble, then 2 years ago quite unexpectedly met a great guy who has made me happier than I ever thought possible and we are getting married on 15th August 2013.

So sorry to read about your dad, will cross fingers that he proves the docs wrong to be at your wedding.

i was Married for 4 yrs had 2 lovely babies and it all went sour and met someone surprisingly quicly after which i was defo not looking for lol sometimes i think it takes a while for us to find our prince :)

i am so sorry to hear about ur dad and i understand ur heart ache i think keep ur dad really involved in it all so if he doesnt make it to your day he was involved as much as possible or you could have really small civil ceremony just really close family where he walks you down then ailse then treat august like the party?

Great to hear from you, always thought because i had kids no man would even look at me again lol (i have 5, 1 girl 4 boys) but here i am getting married,

So have you got lots sorted for your wedding mines just a small wedding close family and friends  

I'm second time around as well. I got married at 18 and was married for 16 years.   Shortly after separating from my ex I met the most amazing man ... 2 and half years ago now and he proposed just over a month ago, a complete surprise to me!! But a very nice surprise.  I am so excited to be getting married again and I can not wait  We are getting married next August

Sorry for the news about your dad.  Time for the family to rally round and love each other!! It will be a bumpy road I'm sure but if you support each other you will get through.

Sorry to hear about your Dad though, I went through a similar thing with my Granny recently but thankfully she is improving now. It made me sick to think she wouldn't be at my wedding so Has he said anything himself about the wedding? Depending how well he is, he could help you with some ideas and plans so that you can feel his input on the day if that makes sense..

Thanks guys its really nice to be able to chat to you and get your fed back, so nice to hear from you all about how you too have been married before, im so excited for you all, it shows that there is a prince charming is out there for everyone, even though we've all been through it before, nice to know so many of us are getting married in august, so are you all going off on honey moon and if so where you all goin, you never know we might all end up in the same place, lol
