  • Wedding perfume - something new or stick to what you know?!

Was going to treat myself to some perfume with my birthday money.  I usually wear Hugo Boss Orange or Marc Jacobs Oh Lola.  I've tested Armaani Diamonds at lunchtime and am quite liking it so far, but was only a test patch on my hand and it does seem quite strong?!

I'm now not sure, and the woman in the shop said "Oh be careful what you choose, it will create a memory and you don't want to associate your wedding with a horrible perfume" - really missus?! Thanks for that!

It depends if you have any strong feelings...
I wore Thierry Mugler Womanity alot when I first got with my OH..
so I think I'll wear that one because every time I wear it I think about him.

Whatever you wear you will remember though :) x

Haha well I'm sure you wouldn't actually buy a perfume you thought was horrible?? I'm going to buy something new because I only have two and I want something different. Might buy my OH something different for part of his present too, going to have a good hunt at the duty free in gatwick this Saturday!

  • Re: Wedding perfume - something new or stick to what you know?!

I have both of those and I tried Armarni diamonds last weekend, the lady gave me a little tester to take home and I still really like it!  I think its nice to have a new one, so I say go for it and treat yourself!

    Soon 2 b Mrs McLean:
    I've tested Armaani Diamonds

This was my wedding perfume. It wasn't that strong, despite the fact I also wore the body lotion as  a base

It's nice if a perfume has a specific meaning.  We got together when we were 17, so I've outgrown most of those perfume!  Am quite liking the armaani diamonds.  i sprayed it on my left hand so I get a wee whiff everytime I answer the phone.  It has calmed down a bit, think I might have found a winner.....hmmmmm.

I always freak out about buying perfume but this is so much worse! haha I'm such a weirdo!

I am going to try something new so I can smell it. Most of the perfumes I wore in the early days remind me of being pregnant and morning sickness. I cant stand the smell of them now make me want to Ick!.

I went to Jo Malone and got one made up just for the day  so that smell would always remind me of our wedding day. H did the same, well he got prada fpr men which he had never worn before, we wanted totally new smells which would always remind us of wedding and honeymoon and they totally do! We only wear them on very special occasions and the smells make us all fluffy and take us back to the day.

I've never had the same perfume twice so all my past perfumes now remind me of happy occasions when I got them (birthdays, holidays, Christmas). I wanted to create a new perfume-memory so have bought something new (Viktor & Rolf) for my wedding day. I'm going to wear it on the day and throughout the honeymoon.

I considered buying my OH the scent he had when we got together which I LOVE, but I don't want to be reminded of being 20 on my wedding day. Onwards and upwards.

  • Re: Wedding perfume - something new or stick to what you know?!

This is exciting. I have arranged to have a day and go to a big debenhams and smell lots of different ones. I smelt one which is new the other week which i liked but it was onky a soft smell and diddn't last very long on me so i need one which will last. I really like the stella one and that lasts for ages on me but i don't want something too overpowering. I love the smell of armani diamonds my sister wears it all the time and i sprayes it on me at the weekend to try it and it made me feel ill it really didn't smell right on me at all. So i will be staying clear of that and just admire my sister when she has it on lol.

  • Re: Wedding perfume - something new or stick to what you know?!

Perfumes definitely create memories for me too! Some instantly remind me of Christmas, others of nights on the town etc so I'm going for something new to create a new 'wedding memory'. Don't know what yet, maybe something top end as a treat and in the hope it will last well!

I love diamonds. I treated myself to it a little while ago but it's nearly all gone now Sad

TBH since I still have AGES to go, I've given it no thought until I read your post, but I have a few perfumes I wear depending on my mood but I always struggle to find a new one that I really like so will probably end up using one I have already.

We bought each other One Million for our first christmas together, neither of us knew that the other was getting it

We thought about getting something different but it was extra money that we didn't want to spend
